The Whiting Public Library is a service institution. It seeks to inform, educate, entertain, and culturally enrich the entire community by providing books, services, and other library materials free for all to use.

Likewise, for our younger patrons we have Tumble Books. Sony music's complete catalog of mp3 files is available for you to download at Freegal. If you want to browse through popular magazines then Zinio is the link for you. Finally, if you are interested in discovering your family history then click on Heritage Quest. John Sherman will be at the Whiting Library on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 2 p.m. where he will read his poetry and prose detailing his childhood growing up on a farm in Jay County, Indiana, in the 1940s and 1950s.
