The Whiting Public Library is a service institution. It seeks to inform, educate, entertain, and culturally enrich the entire community by providing books, services, and other library materials free for all to use.
St. Catherine's Hospital will be available to provide free blood pressure screenings on the second Thursday of each month. The staff will begin taking blood pressures from 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. in the Whiting Public Library's Meeting Room. No appointments or pre-registration is required to participate in this free event.
Karen Land, a three-time participant in the 1,100-mile Iditarod Sled Dog Race across Alaska, and her dog Romano will be at the Whiting Public Library on Saturday, March 7th at 2 p.m. Karen will be talking about her experience in this grueling competition and how she initially got involved.
