Debra Ann Miller portrays Nellie Bly, a pioneer of investigative journalism, at the Whiting Public Library on Saturday, October 3rd at 2 pm. On November 14, 1889, Bly began a solo trip around the world inspired by the 1873 Jules Verne novel Around the World in Eighty Days — completing her own trip in the record-breaking time of 72 days, six hours, 11 minutes, and 14 seconds.
